Assess The Tree. Plan The Removal. Protect What’s Underneath.

An ISA Certified Arborist looks at the tree before anyone touches it. If it has to come down, our crews take it apart in sections with rigging and lowering lines. If it can be kept, we tell you that instead.

“Nolan and coworker were friendly, polite and helpful. Did a thorough job of spraying arborvitae for bag worms and checked out another tree for us. I’d give them 10 stars!!”

What you’re seeing

You Already Know Something Is Off

A dead limb hanging over the driveway. Bark falling away from the trunk in sheets. A lean that looks a little further along than it did last spring, or roots lifting on one side after a storm. You can see it — you just can’t tell whether it is something you have a season to think about or something you don’t.

A shade tree takes decades to grow and a bad removal takes the fence, the shed or the neighbor’s roof with it. Better to have an arborist look and tell you it is fine.

Worth a look sooner rather than later

  • A tree is leaning, cracked, or shows storm damage
  • Large deadwood sits over the house, drive, or a play area
  • Bark is splitting or falling away from the trunk
  • Fungus or mushrooms are growing at the base
  • Construction or excavation is planned near the tree
  • You are buying or selling and the trees need evaluating
  • A boundary tree has raised a question with a neighbor
  • An old stump is still sitting where a tree came down years ago
Why the assessment comes first

The Tree Gets Read Before It Gets Cut

Our arborists are certified by the International Society of Arboriculture, and the assessment is the part of the job that decides everything after it.

The condition decides the job

Dead, declining, structurally unsound, or simply planted in the wrong place. Each one calls for a different approach, and one of them isn’t removal at all.

Rigging, not felling

Our crews are trained in aerial lift operation, advanced rigging and controlled felling. Sections come down under control rather than dropping.

Removal is a one-way decision

Where cables and brace rods would hold a tree with weak attachment points, we quote that instead and tell you why.

What a removal includes

  • On-site assessment by an ISA Certified Arborist
  • A written quote before any work is scheduled
  • Rigging and lowering lines to protect what’s below the canopy
  • Sectional removal where access is tight
  • Aerial lift operation where the property allows it
  • Cabling and bracing quoted as an alternative when the tree can be kept
  • Stump grinding after the removal, or on its own if the tree is already down
  • Licensed experts and our 100% No Risk Guarantee
The assessment, and what follows it

Three Honest Outcomes, Not One Sales Pitch

Most companies quote the service you called about. We assess the tree and tell you which of these it actually needs — including when that costs us the bigger job.

Questions

Before You Book

Will you tell me if the tree doesn’t need to come down?

Yes. Cables and brace rods provide supplemental support to trees with weak branches, multiple stems or compromised attachment points. If that would hold your tree, we quote it instead of removal and explain the reasoning.

How do you protect the rest of the yard?

By taking the tree apart rather than dropping it. Our crews use advanced rigging and lowering lines, work in sections in tight spaces, and use an aerial lift where the property allows access.

Who assesses the tree?

An ISA Certified Arborist. Taylor’s Way is a fourth-generation family business with more than 50 years in the Illinois Valley, and our arborists carry the certification rather than the crew alone.

Can you grind the stump if the tree is already gone?

Yes. Stump grinding does not have to come packaged with a removal — if the tree came down years ago and the stump is all that is left, that is a job on its own. We grind it out and you get your yard back.

Do you remove shrubs and smaller trees too?

Yes. The same assessment applies at any size — condition and location decide the approach.

Which towns do you serve?

Twenty-six towns across the Illinois Valley and the Peoria area, listed above. If you don’t see yours, call the office at 815-875-8231.
